From shefphobia to Gfa president , Kurt E. S. Okraku

Dear Gfa president , Kurt E. S. Okraku may you live long to see the fruits of the generational footballing structures you are grounding for Ghana.
Thus far,I refer to your letter requesting Accra Hearts of oak ,following their clearance by ministry of health ,of their Covid19 negative status, to honor their game against Ashgold on Tuesday at Accra sports stadium .
I am not particularly enthused with this decision to rush our darling club to kick that game for the preceding reasons .
The team has been isolating and unable to train for over a week and over.
The team will be in Accra on Friday and has only two days to train to face a team that has had a team that has had a taste of the season .
We cannot just get into playing without getting our boys from the psychological imbalance from stigma and trauma that came with Covid19 announcement.
For the forgone reasons and others , it is my humble plea that ,that game on Tuesday against Ashgold should be postponed as well in order not to give Ashgold an unwarranted advantage .
The calendar for the season ,your Excellency is very long and stretches up to June without mid-week matches making it convenient to get the two outstanding games cleared as we close down on June 2021.
Fair play demands all the clubs in the league must have equal treatment and advantage to compete on equal strength.
The current Gfa being led by you are men full of ideas and good intentions for Ghana football at large .
I’m highly optimistic and have no scintilla of doubt ,that , this letter will get your needed attention .
Yours in football

b. Umbro
c. Gnpc
d. Bitwear
e. Adonko next level
f. Star life assurance
g. SAS
Next to join
a. Africa world Airline
- Payment of players wages.
Hearts of oak doesn’t owe any player currently
- Recruitment of players
Management has recruited the best of players for the club based on the supporters wish e.g PR 17 n Abednego Tetteh etc
- Renewal of players contract
The management has settled contractual issues with any player whose contract was due to an end.
- Purchasing of bus
After lengthy blames here n there the management entered into partnership n secured us a bus
- Building of kpobiman edifice
After some of our own supporters ridiculed the club of lacking training pitch, the board entered into contract with Turkish prefab to installed an ultra modern pitch for us.
- Flow of information/effective communication.
Opare Addo is doing a scintillating job with regards to the flow of information but some of our supporters believes in the lies rather than the one from an annotated source.

Weaknesses
- Some board n Ncc members ain’t secretive cos of their egoistic interest they ll leak information to some radio stations for their fellow to be sacked for their choice to take over.
- We have been suffering to beat Kotoko in Accra cos of inaction n actions from some of our sell out supporters. The gossiping is too much.
- Some whatsapp administrators can’t even manage their own platforms but they re always on the neck of the management chastising them.

The club had gone without a shirt sponsor for the whole of last season and the new relationship is expected to continue the healthy financial outlook. In the past month, the Accra club had rejected a three-year sponsorship offer from telecom operators, MTN, worth about GH¢3 million ($1.57 million).

The ardour Some fans use to criticize our management is quite preposterous which sometimes baffles me.
Majority of Hearts fans castigate and lambast the management with some kind of cynical energy which I would be pleased if we use this kind of ardour to purchase a policy from Star Insurance or buy a Jersey to succor the club financially.

Surprisingly, when these deals are being abrogated for mirage of reasons, these same fans will throw shades at the management and even tag them with incompetency.
Let’s be honest and ask ourselves these questions:
- How many of us have had a feel of how Adonko Next Level tastes?
- And to those who drive, how many of us do buy from Goil?
- How many of us have registered at least a policy with Star Insurance?
Mostly, we sell our internal problems to these sports presenters and later comeback again and lambast our management of things we are responsible of.
Please, let us come together and do the needful because we are here for a common goal.

But sources close to the team have disclosed that the skipper has been ruled out of the game and will not travel with the team to Sudan.

Forget Hearts and channel your grievances to the regulator.
- Why were they allowed to play friendly games when they had not tested the players?
- Who should have told them not to travel to Dormaa when cases were recorded in their camp?
- You remember the curtain raiser to the Blackstars match? Were the legends tested before the match?
- What directive has been sent to teams whose players came into contact with the Rainbow boys?
- The teams who took the test before moving to camp and went ahead to play friendly matches, were their opponents tested?
- Has the regulator watched the video of how Bechem United announced their Mobile app?
- Who, how and when should Covid-19 test results be communicated to clubs?

In this era, the regulator should be saving the game and not clubs especially when they know the challenges these clubs face.
Let’s do it right and bring back the love.

Black wednesday for kumasi ashanti kotoko

15th March, 2000 AD was the day. Unarguably, the greatest assembly of men ever gathered in Club football history in Ghana. The team that went on to win four unprecedented trophies in a season had set their greatest rivals on fire. They humiliated Kotoko. Battered them left, right and center with the Porcupine Warriors not knowing what exactly had hit them. The 64-battalion and their sweeping force were a nightmare for the legions of Kotoko fans till this very day and a reverie for the fans of the Oak tree.
Four goals have been scored by a team in the 101 Hearts versus Kotoko clashes in the league on three occasions. Hearts lead the way with 3 victories (after scoring four) to Kotoko’s one.

First, Hearts beat Kotoko 4-3 in an abandoned game in 1958 at the Jackson Park – the Phobians won the replay at the same venue 5-2; Kotoko avenged that defeat with a 4-2 win in Accra the same year. But Hearts repeated the trick again, a quarter of a century later from 1958, when they beat Kotoko 4-3 in another classic thriller in Kumasi.
Close to two decades later after the terrific 4-3 Hearts win over Kotoko in 1983, Cecil Jones Attuquayefio whose career had spiraled down after he picked up an injury whilst playing for – Hearts of Oak’s city rivals – Accra Great Olympics against Kotoko in the 1971 Africa Club Champions semi-final, had his revenge when the team that brought him success as the Best Coach in Africa in 2000, trounced Asante Kotoko 4-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
A rainy Wednesday morning and a mid-week fixture in only the second game of the season saw Kumasi Asante Kotoko trek to the Accra Sports Stadium to face old foes Accra Hearts of Oak. The Porcupines had a good start to the year after they beat Hearts in the J.O.T Agyeman Cup in February, 2000. It was time to repeat the dosage or – as time will later exemplify – to suffer their heaviest defeat since Ebusua Dwarfs shamed them 5-0 three decades earlier.
Hearts, in search of a first continental Cup in their 89-year history, were disinterested in the league after winning it on three consecutive occasions. The focus had switched to Africa, and the team was put to a secret training camp from January, 2000. A preparation for the African odyssey, has fate will have it, prodded Kotoko to Accra on the 15th of March, 2000.
What transpired could never be written down. An attempt to describe the day would be an understatement and an injustice, as an adjective worthy of perfectly depicting the game is yet to be coined by the Queen of England – an unofficial petition letter has been sent to Her Royal Highness in regard to a neologism befitting the 4-0 rout. But 15 years on, the Buckingham Palace reply has not reached the shores of the capital, Accra.
Four nil, the game ended. The precocious Ishmael Addo, top-scorer for Hearts in the derby with Kotoko, grabbed his customary two before the first half. Addo’s first, a thumping header from a Kenneth Sarpong cross in the 24th minute left defender Frank Atsu in a Sisyphean struggle, heading on beyond his keeper. The young assassin’s second, a sweet temerarious chip from outside the box over goalkeeper Oscar Asamoah few minutes to the half hour. It was so good that the commentator was left in stupefaction… “What a goal? Ishmael Addo…. Oooooooooooh!”
Kenneth Sarpong, one of the most silent yet salient stars of the 64-battalion juggernaut, added the third goal after the break with a sweet volley that could be watched over and over again, without the slightest feeling of monotony.
Emmanuel Osei Kuffour, the General, had redefined the word coolness and panache in front of goal with the most exquisite set of skill in the box since man had found delight in toying with the round leather ball.
Opoku Afriyie, Francis Kumi and K. Badu had established a standard in the derby when they scored for Kotoko to win 3-0 in Accra in 1980.
20 years on, the 64-battalion had obliterated the record in the derby; a sweet revenge and the greatest Hearts of Oak victory over Kotoko in 101 games. Thank you to the following legends who made this day possible. Thank you Cecil Jones for the unbridled joy you gifted us. And we will forever remember this day, and celebrate the names of the 64 battalions. Hearts XI is a mighty team. 4-0. 4-0. 4-0. 4-0. Kotoko, what is the score? Four – Zero. Again? Four! Or you want more?
Full-time Result: Hearts 4-0 Kotoko.
Full-time Result: Hearts 4-0 Kotoko.
HEARTS XI:
Sammy Adjei; Yaw Amankwah Mireku, Jacob Nettey (C), Justice Ampah, Stephen Tetteh; Joe Ansah, Charles Allotey ( Adjah Tetteh), Charles Taylor, Kenneth Sarpong ( ); Ishmael Addo (Emmanuel Adjogu), Emmanuel Osei Kuffour.

Do you know Accra Hearts of Oak was formed in 1910/ Strong Hearts

Hearts of Oak was actually formed in 1910 but had its formal foundation day of 11th November, 1911, the day on which the club was finally ready to take on The Invincibles.
When some young men from Ussher Town in Accra came together sometime in the middle of 1910, little did they know that they were sowing the seed which would one day blossom into the mighty oak tree, Accra Hearts of Oak, the oldest existing club in Ghana today. In fact, those glorious pioneers had been bound together by one single desire—to form a club to challenge the only then existing team in Accra, The Invincibles.

The group was made up of mainly young men from the James Town area. But it was the young man from Saltpond, where the game of soccer had been played earlier on, who gave the newly formed club inspiration and guidance. He was Ackom Duncan who became its first captain. Duncan took up the training of the players and by 1911, Hearts were ready to take on the Invincibles. But it was on November 11, the same year that Hearts outdoored their first jerseys and thus formally was born the club which was to grow into easily one of the most popular clubs in Africa to date.
In 1917, Hearts decided to change its colours. The task was accomplished by Bruce-Tagoe who came out with the “rainbow colours”—red, yellow, and blue. When it was approved, a set of jerseys in the new colours was ordered from Manchester, UK. Outdooring of the new jerseys was marked with a match against the old rivals, The Invincibles. Hearts won by a lone goal.

The first major triumph by Hearts in competitive soccer came in 1922 when the then Governor of the Gold Coast, Sir Gordon Guggisberg, donated a shield for an Accra football league in Accra which had been firmly established in 1920. Hearts won the first competition and the Guggisberg Shield at stake becoming the first city Champions. Hearts went on to win it six times out of 12 competitions and are its proud custodians today having won the last contest in 1954.

History behind Ofei Dodoo’s brace against Kotoko 3- 4 Hearts, 24th August 1958.

KOTOKO 3 – 4 HEARTS (24th August, 1958):
This game was the beginning of the age-old rivalry between the two Ghanaian heavyweights. Hearts of Oak were the dominant force in pre-Independent Ghana, having won the Guggisberg Shield six times in 12 years. In confirmation of the Rainbow Club’s pre-Independence supremacy, and on this first ever meeting in the league against Kotoko at the Kumasi Jackson Park, the Phobians played the home side off the pitch. In an exciting opening 45-minutes, Hearts scored three quality goals through Ofei Dodoo, C.K Gyamfi and Nii Dowuona. But after recess, Kotoko pegged back the scores before Ofei Dodoo

He scored a brace in the first meeting.
doubled his tally to put Hearts in the lead again. However, the game was abandoned in the 70th minute when Kotoko’s Dogo Moro refused to leave the pitch after he was red-carded by the center Referee. In the temporary kerfuffle, Hearts goalkeeper Addoquaye Laryea was injured and rushed to the hospital, and 100 fans were arrested after the confusion escalated into a riot.
But although the game did not end, the Hearts win was never in doubt.

History about sir Jones, part 1

History about Sir Cecil Jones Attuquayefio.
Dj. love n see
Cecil Jones Attuquayefio born on the 18th October, 1944 was a loyal servant of Accra Great Olympics -Hearts of Oak’s city rivals – but it was with HEARTS of OAK that he made his name as a coach.
The ex-Black Stars player, after battling with throat cancer for close to eight years, finally lost the fight on the 12th May, 2015. He fought to the very end of his life…….
FROM STAR PLAYER TO LEGENDARY COACH
Attuquayefio’s footballing career spanned almost 20 years. He started with Ghana Academicals in the early sixties, transferred to Accra Standfast F.C for a short-stint, later joined Ghana Republicans and finally settled with Accra Great Olympics – where he played from 1966-1974- during their most successful spell in Ghana football which culminated in two league titles in a space of four years. He was a member of the Black Star team that won the African Nations Cup in 1965.
His coaching career kicked off right after his playing days, his first job was with the Accra Great Olympics team in the mid-seventies. He managed the “wonder club” for almost a decade. He was the Assistant-coach of the Black Stars from 1985-1987……….to be continue🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
